How to make a crocheted Granny Square

These are so popular right now, the reason being, once you learn how to make one, you can repeat this and then puzzle them together to make literally MILLIONS of different things. 

The colours you put together are a major part of the 'vibe' you're going for. You can mix and match, using up your yarn stash ends to get that 70's thrift store kinda feel, or you can keep the colour story tight and get a finish that looks smart but cool at the same time.
