EKA is a small, independent UK brand that specialises in handmade crocheted gifts and accessories. With a focus on quality craftsmanship and eco-friendly designs, EKA offers a range of warm winter wear, festive décor, and charming gifts that bring joy and comfort to every recipient.

About The Maker

Gilly Seagrave had a 'past life' (so it felt!) as a competitive snowboarder. During that time she learned to crochet and would make hats to sell to friends and small boutiques in the mountains.

She joined NotOnTheHighStreet with her little crocheted collection of hats and scarves back in 2011 and that's when things really took off for EKA. Getting stuck into living a life a little more (read- 'a lot more' here) grounded was fuellled by almost as much adrenaline when the orders started pinging in. Setting up production in Auroville, India where she could feel happy that they shared her principles on ethical production, environmentalism and fair trade was an absolute life saver, making it possible to grow and create new and exciting new ranges.

Spring forward (quantum leap style) :- one dog arrival, one baby arrival, one pandemic, a few heart breaking wars and one dog passing 💔 ➡ to the changed world we now inhabit, it feels like another life time! The retail world is changed almost beyond recognition. US tariffs and Brexit have made the market so much smaller for small online businesses, but EKA is very much still here and happy to have navigated the waters with a compass clearly set on 'find joy' (sprinkled with a healthy dose of 'what do the Tarot Cards say?' 😉)
